Is it juzt me or are Americans damn irritating!?
I mean ok ive never met one personaly but I have spoken to hundreds online and as soon as u mention where u come from u can only sit back and laugh at their stupidity.
I mean more than half the Americans I've spoken to think that South Africans live in huts surrounded by wild-life and have a couple of lions as pets out side surrounded to the tree.
I mean how can we live in huts and have access to the internet...and also wouldnt one of the giraffes that walk around out side have smacked our telephone line down by now..or maybe an elephant?
One American asked me whether or not I knew what music was and what a 'Band' was ...I mean wtf?!And they are always asking me how it is that I am able to understand English?!(by this time i have sworn at them in a bit of Afrikaans and told them I was sayin hello in 'Afrikan')
They are so damn ignorant...yes America is a massive powerful country etc etc.....but damn they are ignorant...they got this whole attitude that America is better than any other country in the World....
Personaly I say they gotta split up that mofo of a country up into smaller countries cos its to damn big !i mean who poses a greater threat ...giant America or lil old starving Iraq or Afganistahn ?
I Know theres loads more Id like to moan about them but im to pissed off at the moment to think....

I have met a few Americans, personally, and most of them I've met have been quite nice friendly ppl.
But most of the American's I've met online have been shockingly uninformed about any other country other than their own....
Maybe the education standard isn't really too high there in high school?
I remember some guy coming on to the saix battlefield server once, and insulting and swearing at everyone, claiming he was american, and he claimed every other country out there was a Muslim state
I dunno if he was serious, or just trying to piss ppl off for their reactions.
But, I think most Americans are nice ppl, even if uninformed about South Africa, but then, don't they have the internet to use for researching other countries?
Makes me wonder if they are just acting stupid, or are not just doing the research and finding out for themselves....

After WW2 the americans sat back in their chairs, drank beer and got lazy, they thought they don't need to do anything because they are the most powerful in the world.
The only thing driving them was power and money.
The Japanese that got their asses kicked went to school and made their children become smarter.
Today the Japanese actually own most of american companies.
Have you ever watched Jay leno, sometimes he goes out to schools and ask university students questions, you will be surprised how little they know about their own country and know even less about the world outside of the USA.
One night he had a picture of the Vice-President and asked students who the person was, of the 10 maybe 2 were able to name the Vice-President.
I know Canadians here that took a 1 hour drive over the border to go watch a hockey game and was asked by an american if it gets cold in the igloos they live in.
They know nothing about the country right next to them, what do you expect them to know about South Africa ?
Even though the americans will try and convince themselves and everybody around them that the USA is the best place in the world it is far from the truth.
Put on the TV and the news looks just as bad as the news in SA.
Murder, robbery, racial murders and so on.
The education system is probably one of the worst in the world.
The health system is not much better than you have in SA
The unemployment rate is unbelievable
In reality the USA is The Titanic, it was viewed to be the best ever, it got destroyed by the captain and the owner to show everybody they are the best (US government) it is sinking and nobody can do anything about it. Eventually it will just be a piece of rubble on the bottom of the ocean.
The USA is something like $6 Trillion in depth, it won't be long before the Euro is the main currency of the world and without the $US the USA is nothing.

I am too completely against the Americans. I have met many, most of which also ask just about the same question if u have lions running around. A really good friend i know from msn messenger, know each other for a year or so, he lives in florida, has 3 pcs, all of which r the best in the world, one being a 3000+ barton with a 9800 and a gig of ram, hes got this uber big house but yet the lacks the education of the people he meets, his arrogant rich attitude annoys me, one instance was when tellign him in getting a new pc, i told him my budget was R11 000 and he kaked himself laughing.

Another thing I hate about americans they cant compliment anybody doesnt matter what, was reading a forum somewhere and this one guy posted a pic of his watercooled system witch was build in a premodded case it looked great cables neatly hidden etc. all that they could reply is how big a loser he was for not modding his own case, that was really dissapointing!!!

Actually, I wasn't comparing America with India, but rather South Africa with America, in that we too care and know little of what's going on in other countries. I once had a long argument with a guy who didn't know that England was an island and he'd been there.

Shows like that prove to me what I've always known. On average, most people are morons, and they want the whole world to be just as stupid as they are. That's why shows like that not only exist, but are extremely popular. In my opinion, Oprah is only slightly better.

Had the whites of South Africa implemented a universal education system, offfered equal rights and generally tried to co-operate with the people to whom this land belongs, instead of creating a lopsided unbalanced system bound to fail by the sheer number of uneducated people it was producing with Apartheid, SA would have been one of the richest, most prosperous and crime-free countries in the world.

No Ziggy, what I was implying and trying to put forward was the following. Let’s first ask the question, what has resulted in the downfall of some, if not all former European colonial states? I would have to answer that it was the uprising of the original inhabitants (the natives) of those countries against the oppressive colonial power. Not that the native was counter productive, but the preceding years to said overthrow had extensive economic and social implications.
