As above,

I am getting annoyed with the power from the socket in my Fourways flat constantly blowing PSU's.

I am going to start looking into UPS with line conditioners.

Any suggestions?

I have a new PC waiting to be built but I don't want to plug it into unclean/dirty power.

I would also need something that could handle 2 pc's at a time.

Saw this on the Makro Website: http://www.makro.co.za/ProductDetail.aspx?...000000098838|EA

Whatcha think?

Can work, I just don't know if 600va is enough for 2 pc's. If it's not gaming pc's maby. ermm.gif
Check Here as well.

That's the thing though, one of the machines will be a gaming only machine, while the other will be a mixed gaming/media PC.

I also have a laptop to think about.

Eish.

You will have go bigger. Work out the total power capacity you will need then see what your budged will allow you & take it from there. Take 2 also has a couple. Link
The biggest there is a 3000va for bout R14 845 Sure to be big enough. biggrin.gif

Eish! 14k!

Hehehe, could get my whole flat on "clean" power with that!

Was thinking of maybe getting 2 small/medium units and running the PC's on one and the laptop(s) on the other.

Might be over kill, but I'd rather replace fuses on the UPS than PSU's in the PC.

If that makes sense?

Hehe

Thanks for the links Kaless!

APC ftw but they are pricy sad.gif take a line interactive to ensure that the power flowing through is stable

as for KVA... 600VA is only going supply enough power for a 350W psu... so if you looking for anything higher say 650W then 1100VA is the way to go... those are around R1600 or so (APC)

rurounikenshin
Yeah I will need to go around 1100VA.

My main desktop is running a 460W PSU and the new rig will be running the same. My other PC is also running a 300W PSU.

APC FTW biggrin.gif

I used to have a really nice one, but that found it's way into the container with my fathers office equipment some how.
Think I got conned.

Hehe

No problem.

Hehe, just waiting for one of the guys at the office to give me some prices.

He reckons he can get them cheaper than anywhere else.

Let's hope so.
