I'm 26 and I use to get pocket money up to the age of 22... then I graduated from varsity and had to earn my own keep... Haven't asked my mom for any money since... been trying to pay my mom's bills etc.

I got an allowance until I finished school in 1999. Thereafter it was a case of looking out for myself. Currently, I am 26 (but after this crappy week, feel more like 46 sad.gif).

My parents only paid for my accomodation during my studies, and not really 'til the end.

Nowadays, my parents mught buy me a few things, but not give money. Like this week my dad bought me new tyres w00t!

I haven't been given money or anything for ages. Didn't really get an allowance when I was in high school, but if I really needed something my parents would get it for me, or if I wanted to go out and didn't have much moolah, they would assist. I have been fending for myself for long time now. smile.gif I'm 26.

It seems a lot of us are 26 then.....

I never got pocket money or allowance, when I NEEDED something my parents would get it for though.

These days I give my parents pocket money tongue.gif

My folks don't give me squat.

My Gf's folks like to slip a little extra into my account now and then though.

I'm 24 My parent's try to give me money (They always think I'm not eating) but usually I try to help them with cash when I can :-) It's like trying to repay my debt. hahaha

my parents don't think I eat enough as well. They don't offer me money though. haha. sad.gif

My parents didn't just give me money, they gave me food and shelter up to the age of 27. Then I got a REAL job and moved 1200 km away, and they gave me nothing. Nine months later I left my job and I'm back at home. My mother paid my last two car payments and she most likely will while I wait for my ex-employer to go bankrupt or pay me the rest of salary, or until I can find another Job.

That just sounds sad.

I dont get pocket money, but if Im going to the movies or something, they might give me like R50 towards some dinner or something. Mostly I spend the cash I earn though, buy my own clothes etc. But then again, they are about to start forking out for 4 years of university in the US dry.gif

I am 21 and I pay for pretty much everything myself, but my parents buy my food for me. Oh and occasionally when I give them very cute puppy dog eyes, they will donate petrol money. laugh.gif

Got small allowance during Highschool and varsity (R200 in '99), but they did pay the food bills (food eaten at varsity cafeteria) and clothes and lodging.
