Lucas Arts have been working on a hell of a game called "The force unleashed"

QUOTE
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tells the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice as he hunts down the remaining Jedi. Set in the dark times between Episode III and Episode IV, the story explores the aftermath of Order 66, which called for the immediate execution of all Jedi, as well as the rise of Darth Vader leading into the Original Trilogy.

Probably one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the last few years, from what I have gathered this game has been in production for a while, and the thoughts behind the game date back a few years.

I can't remember where I read it, but a few punters say that this is the game that is going to rival GTA IV's success, and I can truly believe it.

One snag, no PC version. At all.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an upcoming multimedia project developed and published by LucasArts along with Dark Horse Comics, Lego, Hasbro, and Del Rey Books. It consists of a video game, a tie-in novel, action figures, a comic book, a reference book and a role-playing game supplement, as well as a book on the making of the game. The game will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, second-generation N-Gage, and PlayStation 2. The game is expected to be released in North America on September 16, 2008; in Australia on September 17, 2008; and in Europe on September 19, 2008.

However judging from what they are saying on www.theforceunleashed.com the game was made for the wii, which makes sense, of course, wielding your wii remote like a light saber certainly gets my vote. (yes, I have a wii, yes, I am biased, no, you can't wield a PS3 remote the same way, yes, 360 blows)

This game is what I would want from every star wars game, the ability to use the force for mayhem and destruction, I have to date not yet seen a game that allows you to use the force with such reckless abandon, you really need to check the videos out, the moves are insane, levitate an opponent then impale them with your saber, force push that not only pushes your intended victim but everything else in your path too, force grip and throw that allows you to levitate victims and other heavy objects and use them as weapons, arcing force lightning that obliterates everything in its path and not just a single opponent, and some seriously scary combos like grip, lift, impale, push then throw in some lightning for full effect.

Every time I think about this game which is only due out in September, I land up nursing a semi.

The trailer starts off with the unnamed apprentice using the force to pull a star destroyer out of the sky.

Need I say more?

Here are some screenies.
