The other movie starring Casey Affleck and the first feature length directorial (unless I missed something?) job by his brother Ben Affleck.

The story revolves around two detectives (Casey's gf played by Michelle Monaghan) who get contacted by the family of a kidnapped girl. The ball gets rolling from there on, throw in Ed Harris (excellent as most of the times) as the cop with an agenda and some twists (who's who mostly) et voila, you got yourself a nice debut by Ben and a worthy picture (directing and acting wise).

Casey Affleck once again has this weird screen presence and shows that the line between right and wrong is easily crossed (what is right & wrong anyways?) as he cannot give up on what goes on his mind.

It wasn't a revelation or anything but just a well made and acted movie which can be recommended to anyone, as with Jesse James, this movie gets mostly made by Casey Affleck.

I also liked the fact that nothing got really glamourised for Hollywood, this is the city the're in (Boston btw) and its raw, filled with ordinary people (this comes forward in most of the casting) and just plain ugly and desensitive (some over-sensitive). Who makes the lines for right and wrong? Who decides when enough is enough? Do people ever change?

I hope Ben Affleck stays more behind the camera than infront of it (though I do not mind him actually).

9/10.
