So I just got finished reading a book and it completely blew! I hate not finishing books because sometimes they get better at the end, but this one had no saving grace whatsoever. Now, I'm taking suggestions for books that people actually liked before I dive into anything. Any suggestions?

I don't know which book you just finished, so I hope I don't recommend the one you just read. LOL...
I really liked the Secret Life of Bees and Kim Edwards' The Memory Keepers Daughter. Lifetime is actually making a movie version that's airing this Saturday night at 9.
Non-fiction - I liked Running with scissors. Made me laugh!

I got a chance to watch this over the weekend. I think the story was told really well for a book to movie transition.

I'd recomend the MYST series. The book of Atrus is good. Even if you didn't like the games much it is a good story. And decent artwork.

Robert Jordans The Wheel of Time series George R R Martins Song of Ice and Fire series...
Both excellent, if you like fantasy of course! Although I dont think Ive ever read a book (refering to the song of ice and fire series) where so many of the main characters die! Every flipping chapter something horrible is happening to someone you love, but Im sure it all turns out well, not quite finished the third book yet.

That's the beauty of SoIF. Very unpredictable characters. The next book should be out this September
