Ok, so cats use their wiskers to determine weather or not they can fit through spaces. (i.e. door ways and windows) Should you find yourself feeling espshally cruel you could always trim the wiskers really short. It messes with the cat and untill they grow back they will walk through doors backwards.
Also if you put a piece of tape on the cat's sides back or stomach it will attempt to get away from it thus walking sideways or army crawling. (No this doesn't hurt them if you use masking tape or something)
