Ok my work just installed a network nanny.

AFAIK, what this does is monitor internet usage and stuff like what sites you visit and how long you spend on the internet.


Now does anyone know how i can surf V9 without the network nanny picking it up, aside from an external Inet source like a data card,etc...

i wanna use work Inet... just without anyone knowing

If you guys need the info, they changed our internet explorer settings to use some proxy. everyone has the same proxy address and port number. and if you change it you cant get onto the net i tried it already

Try redirecting from the proxy at sites like hidemyass.com.

That should send an address to the proxy that when revisited should not work, thus preventing people from tracking you.

Then again, it may not work at all. There's no restrictions where I work so I wouldn't know if I'm being tracked or not

Problem with this is that, the content of the webpages that i visit is not my concern.

I could use a proxy to hide the content but what i'm concerned is that they know i'm on the internet...

They're not blocking sites but are rather trying to monitor time wastage using the nanny, i dont want them to know i'm on the internet period...

Our IT guys for the most part are pretty stupid so there must be a loophole somewhere that they haven't covered.

Tell them you have a pacemaker and the monitoring software only works online.

they'll ask for a letter but thats a damn good idea

LOL i thought there may have been some hi-tech thingy to get past the Nanny, LOL i could always log on with my bosses profile then surf the net from that wheneva he's not around.... I managed to sneak peek his password once or twice
