I opened up this Valuation program (Excel Based) the program had macros and i enabled them as usual because i've used the program before tons of times without probs...

This time, however, i'm working in the program my excel freezes and computer locks up and i have to take my battery out my laptop to get it to start again everything works fine...

Except that my Excel menu bar (File, Edit, View, etc) has disappeared.... i've tried everything i know to fix it and cant get it right.. If i log in as a different user the menu bar appears so i'm prety sure its just a setting...

Can anyone help this is a real pain for me... and nope i cant re-install MS office i dont have access to the Install disks they belong to my employer, and i dont want the IT Retards(AKA Sheep farmers, as we call them) at work to rape my pc again... (A#$Holes only break the things more)

EDIT:

The IT Retard comment was aimed at the dudes who are at my workplace not anyone else

Click on:

View, Toolbars, Customize.

Scroll Right to the bottom and select "Worksheet Menu Bar"

Done.

The top toolbar is the one that's missing though. No view to click on...

I tried this you can right click in that Blank spot spot.... and go customise.... the menu bar is ticked by default and if you turn it off that way it automatically comes on again when you click it... and this is ticked on mine...

You have no clue how something as simple as the "Save as" is sooo inconvenient to work without....

He should be able click on any open space and select customize, scroll down to the bottom and select "Worksheet Menu Bar"

Heh, you live and learn.

Useful if I should ever choose to go back to microsoft's offerings, which is unlikely

hmm... You could try the following.

Help->Detect and Repair

You shouldn't need the install disks for this. There is an option to reset things to default. At least that's what I remember.

You could also try resetting the toolbar usage etc... That could help.

If I remember anything else I will let you know. Just not in a thinking mood at the moment. sad.gif

Thanks RK but the menu bar is there see my pic...

The drop down menus have disappeared for some reason...
And yip under the commands tab (the same menu as your pic) the drop down menus are there along with the commands...

GAAAAA!!!! looks like the sheep farmers are gonna have to come in and re-install....

Edit

Thanks cyfer:

Cant do the detect and repair dont have the menu bar commands to go "help"
and resetting to the default tool bars i've tried that... doesn't work either sad.gif

The keyboar4d shortcuts dont work either Eg: alt+f brings up the file menu, etc

Did you try the detect and repair?
rurounikenshin
Go to Add/Remove programs, select office and choose the "Change" option. You should be able to select Detect and repair from the options.

Otherwise stick the installation CD in and access it that way.
