So ja, we are facing a small crisis here.

The load-shedding thing is something that is known to many people .. and perhaps you know that locations in the velds are suffering from this more than others.

Over here fe, we have cuts of often more than 5 hours a day ...
Never at night, nono, always during the day.

Sure, we received a schedule ... but whats the point if they cant follow their own schedule ...

Except for the damage to the equipment this makes (the times i could reformat my brol here ...) it also creates serious commercial issues ..

-> No access to webshop -> i cant handle orders -> i cant place orders -> i cant follow up on deliveries etc etc (even deliveries to us) -> i cant even trace payments ... (and i can carry on and on)
This is from our side only ...

The more practical side of things : our postal office is completely useless ... they can accept parcels, they cant send parcels, they cant hand out parcels, .... and all and all ... they work for like 30 minutes a day ..

I dunno how i am going to manage this .. this is not good at all ...

I've deciced to cancel all pre-orders at this stage and to accept no payments AT ALL unless i am for 100% sure that i can deliver and/or follow-up

This is absolute K( at )K and please, do tell me how we could have planned and/or avoided this ??

No, a UPS or generator brings no relief ... our internet is also linked to Eskom (we work via Megaserve) and so when Eskom cuts off, there is simply no internet.

Normally, we expect for the electricity to be cutt off within the next hour and we hope that it will be on again by 7 this evening ...

Well, received an updated schedule, was in the newspaper, big big page

If we are lucky, we stay in stage 1 of load shedding ... if we are unlucky, we will arrive in stage 3 (and with temps each time peaking against the 40 degrees ... aircons will be working, fridges will be pumping, so we will be in stage 3)

Stage 3 means that they will cut us off 3 times a day !!!!

Trust me, everyone is hurting. At home I was cut off for over 7.5 hours the one day....
