Sarkozy to sign UAE nuclear deal
France has already made similar agreements with Algeria and Libya French President Nicolas Sarkozy has confirmed that he will sign a nuclear co-operation deal with the United Arab Emirates during his regional tour. It will be the third such deal Mr Sarkozy has made with Muslim countries since taking office in May last year.
He said the Arab world should have the same rights to civilian nuclear programmes as enjoyed by others.
Mr Sarkozy said the sale of such technology could foster trust between the West and the Muslim world.
Mr Sarkozy is travelling to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates - three Gulf states interested in developing a civilian nuclear programme despite huge oil and gas wealth.
France and the UAE are expected to sign an accord on co-operation in developing civilian nuclear energy, during a stop in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

UTTERLY WONDERFULL AIN'T IT
If we want to see double standards, hjere it is. Iran builds N-Power Plant with Russian help and Mr. Buish is now touring the region looking for allies to have a war with them. he was here yesterday (and dammnit i have never seen so many humvees and troops in one place before). Duing a speech he made to the king he highlighted how Nuclear ambitions where a bad move for the gulf.
And i don't see any acklash for this deal, history or no history. Most of the gulf are america puppets anyhow.
Seems that Mr. Bush seems intent on attacking anyone who doesn't wish to become part of this growing club. Of which Ironically Mr. President of France is going to join very soon.
