Quick question,
Why did you opt for the 8600 when you could get the 8800gt for a couple of bucks more?
8800 GT > x2 8600 GT

cuz its not a "couple of bucks more" in bahrain
The price for the 8600 is 80BD (x16 for Rand) and the price for the 8800 GS/GT is 160/180BD You do the math. Besides this was a gift so i cant actually be an asshole and reject it could I? Besides, from what I've heard this was the only in-stock merchantdise that was still reasonable. (Would you demand a gift that was R3000+)

When he told me about this. I phoned him up and basically told him he was a fool for buying it.
Then i heard about the prices and almost fell off my chair in shock.
I did some checking around some other PC shops myself and shock horror indeed.
These are the current line up of cards trhat are on offer:
And if that isn't robbery i don't now what that is.
Glad io'm going the amazon route

Ye it looks like the only way to get decent professional gaming gear into Bahrain at a relative close price to its original cost is to buy or courier it to another country where your family lives and pick it up next time 'round. Absolutely preposterous!

Ye Bahrain does have its ups and downs. It does have very overpriced electronic gear but low price of living. A liter of petrol is around R1,30
