Okay,

I can safely say that my musical tastes have changed sooo much since i started listening to proper music

For me it was
  • Really light stuff (ie Will Smith) at the very beggining >
  • Rock (i heard Limp Bizkit - was introduced to the basic medium to heavy rock stuff) >
  • Rap (Eminem - i can't believe that i used to love that stuff >
  • Nu-Metal (Linkin Park - heard 'em, loved them. Still my favourite) >
  • Metal (Mettalica - yep my entry and one of the greatest) >
  • REALLY HEAVY STUFF (As I Lay Dying, SOAD, Machine Head, Children of Bodom etc.)

At the moment its mainly metal (and LP) with the odd rock and electronica stuff thrown in every now and then.

Well thats how my musical tastes have changed...

My musical tastes have for the most part, varied - since I was a little brat.

I remember growing up in the Coloured communities, and people thought that I was crazy to listen to rock - still do actually.

The most recent genre that I have developed a taste for is classical. Tried it out in high school at first, but didn't really enjoy, but tried again this year, and it is second only to rock as my favourite.

I even tried to see what all the fuss was about with country music, but didn't enjoy it - perhaps when I am 50-years-old I will give that another shot.

Basically, when it comes to music, I like what I like. Genres are more of what I listen to, but here and there, there can be a song from a genre that I don't listen to that can be appealing to me.

I also went through various stages of crap before getting to where I am now.

I started on dance and techno rubbish when I was a lightie and then moved on to rock and punk when I started playing guitar.

From that I branched off into classic rock, alternative and metal, which then led me into indie and screamo stuff. I've also been a trance fan since the clubbing days of my turbulent youth biggrin.gif

Lol, I think you could go a lot heavier than that. If you want to try some hardcore stuff have a listen to Meshuggah, Poison The Well, Mastodon, etc.

I reckon i will have to build up my current collection of music first before moving on again...

Still got loads of stuff i don't like and hardly any of the screamo and metal that i actually like listening to.

Bah
