Hey all. currently using a 512kb dsl line from home, and I don't really have any complaints about it. Just wondering if I should upgrade to the 4mb line? It will cost me an additional R154 a month, but will I go over my cap then? currently on a 5gb cap...
Suggestions welcome.

Seriously though, I run 4Meg at home and I dont hit my telkom account cap very often, I get to around 5Gig (shared pool) and it is normally fine for me - and I do download a lot of crap (demos/videos etc) which wastes through a cap - but overall, go for it!

personally I feel having a 4Mbps line in SA is just feked up... why? you ask? well lets see 3gig cap on a 4Mbps line... whooopie doo wtf can you do with feking 3gig... it's not the speed that I have a issue with but the feking bandwidth!

Not worth the money to be honest, the only real reason you'd need a faster line is to download quicker. If 5gb is your current cap don't waste money
Getting a 4mb line over a 512k one just means you'll reach your miserable cap even faster.

is there a significant difference to gaming with the 512 line to a 4mb line? I don't really hit my cap at the moment, and don't think I would download much more stuff. Just thinking of getting into the online gaming a bit more...

Just to add to Cyfer's comment RE gaming.
A 512mb will be perfect for online gaming. The only difference between a 512k and a 4mb is that the 4mb syncs at a higher frequency, and therefore local latency is a bit better (I saw a 15ms drop in my latency from upgrading a 384 - 4mb).
Once again, you have to ask yourself wants vs needs and cost vs performance/affordability.
Is a 4mb really what you need? Is the extra money really worth it?
