Hey guys,

Bit of a weird one here.

We are trying to setup a basic standard for all machines (Dell Latitude D630 laptops at the moment) with-in the company.

The problem that the guys have been having to date is that after creating the image and then trying to load it onto a test rig, the hard drives aren't detected and thus, the OS is unable to continue loading.

Has anyone had experience with imaging/cloning Vista?

If so, how did you guys sort this out?

From what I've read there are some changes that need to made to the Boot.ini file.

We haven't tried to do this yet, we're hoping that there is an easier and faster way of creating an image.

Any idea's? ermm.gif

Have you tried using Acronis yet? We use it at work and it works fine.

Otherwise Symantec Ghost works nicely as well...

acronis true image 11 is the answer to all your problems.

acronis is the bomb. smile.gif use it here for a whole bunch of things. smile.gif the reason it isn't picking up the drives could be because it is needing the sata driver for some or other reason. just a thought though...

Yeah I was thinking this aswell.

I went into the BIOS and changed a setting to make the SATA operation from AHCI to ATA (not my idea, but we thought we'd give it a shot) but this didn't help either.

Are there any sites that I can read up on Acronis?

IFAIK they are using Norton Ghost version 12.

Remember Arthur (synapsis I think) he is the local dealer for acronis.
