t’s surprising there hasn’t been a “Jeepers Creepers 3” – the first two films were quite popular, but more so ‘The Creeeper’ is such a good character… it’s a wonder the studio hasn’t wanted to exploit him?
Bloody Disgusting says that the studio has finally agreed to make the film but unfortunately for Victor Salva, who wanted to direct this one, he’s only being offered a producing position. He may also be disappointed to hear that the new film be a DVD Premiere…. In other words, there won’t be a lot of money to play with (let alone to use to get Justin Long back for a cameo). From memory, Salva wanted to do the next one as sort-of an epic western… a horror/western….. but considering he’ll be working on a budget assumingly about the fifth of what the first film cost, a period piece will be out of the question. Whatever the case, Salva’s supposed to be writing the film… so at least he’ll get to cook something up that he’ll hopefully be happy with.

Hmm... I enjoyed the first one, but the second one, not so much. I am fine with the straight to DVD approach.
And yeah, is strange that the studio didn't rape the franchise with a second sequel sooner...
