So do you guys think we have a chance?
Iam obviously positive, BUT then again, Argentina have played like demons lately.
I know the IRB world rankings usually mean sweet fuck all, but hey, if we are 3rd and argentina are 4th, that makes me go, eek.gif

I would love to see us in the final against England, just so we can RAPE them again! I know we might not, but it just makes my dreams better that way, OK?

rugbyworldcup dot com says that our front rows are evenly matched:
QUOTE
PARIS, 14 October - South Africa and Argentina both pride themselves on achieving dominance at scrum time.

Indeed, the Pumas are so infatuated with the set-piece, they have a nickname for their version of it; the 'Bajadira', which loosely translates as the eight working as a unit to bring the opposing scrum down.

When you think Springboks and Argentina front rows, you think of hulking brutes, one group reared on biltong from the high veldt, the other on immense slabs of beef from the Pampas (plains) that skirt Buenos Aires.

That stereotype appears to fit the bill when you consider the front rows that will confront each other at Stade de France in Sunday’s semi-final.

The South African trio of Os du Randt, John Smit and CJ van der Linde collectively weigh in at an imposing 363kg, 22kg heavier than their opponents, and are all gnarled veterans of the tough school that is international front-row play.

But I have to disagree! I mean come on! I think we will dominate them there without a doubt!

Not sure who writes these things, but I bet he is Ozzie tongue.gif

How was the game? I didn't get to watch it sad.gif

First half was better than the second.

Pity Habana couldn't score a third try, and beat Jona Lomu's WC record while Lomu was in the crowd. sad.gif

I do not see the final against England as being an easy one. I mean, we thrashed them 36 - 0 in the group stages, and now they are sitting in the final match. Never underestimate an inspired team.

Scrappy and quite dirty. There were some moments of brilliance though, like the intercept try from Habanna and Jonah Lomu in the crowd.

crappy play, bad calls, a few punches, lots of shoves, extremely bad judgement calls, good kicking, good stealing in the lineouts.

I think the final will start off with both teams being nervous and cautious... not giving much away... but then it'll open up after the half time...

as for yesterday, I was at a wedding so anyone care to comment on the bad points - besides the bitch slapping and ball grabbing biggrin.gif

were we creative? did we kick a lot? was the ball carrier always supported? did they recycle the ball fast enough?

After watching england vs france, france never had a chance with the strategy they played... they kept kicking the ball and whenever they ran there was never and support given to the guy going to the ground. England always had 2-3 guys attacking the ball and pinning the guy with the ball on the ground. The french only throught about kicking the ball everytime they had it... and didn't bother to use their back line.

It was rubbish. We were dominated in the scrums though Gitano. The Pumas have always been a good scrumming team. Our scrum was 100 kilos more than theirs, and they still showed us up.

Hope we play better in the final....
