Which one is your favorite of the series? I liked 7 the most, it was such a change to the series and the summons were great. And I loved the story and cutscenes.

Of those that I have played, 7 was the best for me too. It was more than a game, it was an odyssey.

personally I have no favourite FF... every single one that I have played (FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII) I've enjoyed each and every one, they were each unique in it's own way... and the FMV are the best I've ever seen in any game title I've played

But each series I definately have something to say.

XII - WTF were the developers thinking about when they made the chessboard lvl up?
FFVII - had issues collecting all the materia
FFVIII - PC version was buggy
FFIX - Was too cartoon like for me

Yeah, the leveling up in XII was bunk, and the espers were so useless. But I really liked the gambit system.

Gotta say that it's a tie for VI and VII. Both epic games. But neither one was perfect. I can't wait for the re-release of VII for the PS3. Advent children graphics and all. w00t!

I think the new XIII is looking awesome... the new battlesystem looks like it's shifting to the live environment... quiet frankly I'm tried of running into invisible creatures that I just cannot defeat the random encounters are fun but not when my char's have 5000 health and these encounters take 1 swipe and I'm dead.... - I'm talking along the lines of FF-X... and WTF why did the international version get Dark aeons??? those things like do 12000 damage per hit and they block me from obtaining some nice weapons

Its all a rumor at the moment, people have been calling for a FFVII remake for ages. Square denied they were working on one, but then came back and said anything is possible

So hopefully we get it by 09

Hard to say:

FFX I didn't like, story line was convoluted and as buggy as the plot of Minority Report. However, the voice acting was revolutionary and surprisingly well done. The chessboard was annoying though, especially with hybrid characters like Khimari.

FFXI was shit, end of story.

FFXII I'm still playing, I like it for the same qualities as FFX, but the story is a bit slow so far, and the side quests feel like side quests in that they don't feel like they're contributing to the game overall. Mind you, the only game that's got that properly right ever was BGII.

FFIX is one of my favourites. Cute, trivial and it introduced the moogle. Also has a fantastic soundtrack and is infinitely replayable. Great characterisation.

FFVIII is prolly my favourite. Introduced the best FMV sequences of any game for its time, awesome junction level up system which I loved, as well as the draw function. The only FF where I've easily managed to max my characters to 100 without feeling like I was grinding. Great story, and far out enough with its setting to be really enjoyable. However, it's paradoxically rated overall as one of the poorest. Wasn't received well at all by the public at large...go figure.

FFVII I think has to be rated as the best overall. I didn't enjoy it that much, but I played it after 8 so the graphics were an issue for me. It was almost the perfect game in a lot of ways, and it introduced what is arguably the greatest super villain of any game thus far made in Sephiroth (second only to Irenicus in my opinion).

Keen to see what XIII is like, though I won't have a PS3 so that will be something to think about. WTB FF for Xbox =/

doubt there will ever be FF for xbox as it's PS exclusive.

you got your versions mixed up there's no chessboard in X... they used a sphere grid...

My bad...you know what I mean though, that horrible sphere thing with the specific paths to follow was awful.

Amd yeah, it's sad that it's so PS exlcusive...but what can you do? I might have to suck it up and buy the George Foreman grill in the end.

lol well if they bring it out for PC I would be very estatic

but that sphere was kewl just huge and a pain in the arse to get your character up to full health (9999 - you have to replace all the lowly str sphere with the +4 ones)

FF is awesome!

I never played one until FFX came out and my wife wanted to try it out. I watched her play for about 10 minutes and promptly stole the controller from her and played for myself. Then I went out and bought the rest.

Have to say I like X the best since it got me started on the series...

Like i said in the blog to "favourite games". I never knew that so many peolpe liked the game.

I have played FF VII. Story line in my opinion was good. I started playing a little late so the graffics were really shit. especially seeing some of the graffics in some of the newer games.

I have also played FF VIII, and must say i loved it. Could possibly be my favourite but i think i would be talking very subjectively as this was the reason i actually bought my playstation, just so i could play the game. Therefore also indicating that this was my first FF game i played, and was hooked from the beginning.

I have not played FF IX. Again like i said i am trying to get hold of one, but it is a bitch.

I have played FF X, and again i enjoyed it quite a bit. I do agree with some of the guys that the sphere grid was a major pain and to level your characters up was painful and time consuming.

The last one I have played was FF X-2. Was ok, I did think it was a bit of a girls game, especially when you have to change your out fit.

I have not played the rest.

Ouch, seems like im falling behind, i didn't know there was a FF XIII coming out.

I will have to start playing to catch up.

To conclude, well only to those that i have played, It is a BRILLIANT series.

FF IX was I think the biggest flop of the FF era according to critics and the market segment... personally I like the big headed monkey it was a great change from the standard gameplay and look and feel

I was just reading up on Wikipedia about FFVII remake. It's just a rumor. There are no plans to remake anyting.
