I thought Jet Li had retired from making movies?

well, War stars him and Jason Statham (he of Snatch, Crank, Transporter, lock stock n 2 smoking barrels fame)
and is an action packed, kick ass, car chases, cops robbers, Yakuza and triad gang violence flick with some added eye candy in the form of Nadine Velasquez (my name is earl).

Not the 1st time they have acted together, some may remember them in The One.

Not going to give much away but standard plot with lots of action and a nice little twist, I enjoyed it immensely.

Not oscar winning stuff but worth the watch if you into skop skiet n donder.

7/10

Actually Jet Li stopped making movies because he wanted to be with family and friends after the whole Tsunami Disaster and also started a charity called One Foundation, he's already done a lot of movies since then biggrin.gif

you learn something new everyday,

I was under the impression that "Fearless" was to be his last movie.

I seriously like his style, one of my all time favourite movies of his has got to be "cradle to the grave"

I think Li only retired from the period kung-fu movies ala Once Upon A Time In China.

I liked the fight scenes from The One and the soundtrack - I was pleasantly surprised to hear Drowing Pool's - Bodies when I saw the movie.

He retired from martial arts epic movies, not movies all together. So you won't see him running around as a monk any more, but he is going to continue kicking ass. And the movie was great.
