I vote "perhaps". But its a no-win situation really. If the US (or Isreal) feels threatened, I think they should try to resolve their fears through diplomacy, which they tried. Now they can either do nothing (and appear weak), or take action (and cause suffering for their own people, as well as the people of other countries.

Its inevitable, the fact that Israel feels "threatened" (and is a filthy hypocrite as they have fucking nukes) and they pretty much own america's politics anyway, will mean that something will happen sooner or later. The US could quite comfortably roll over Iran (but they could always fire at Turkish bases).

If that happens and if iran has nukes they will use them.

If America lauches the first strike (Nuclear) then i very much doubt any of its allies will help em if the Russians decide to use the Nuke option and hit the launch site.

Even without considering Nuclear weapons, even using conventional weapons can easily wipe out everything in this area. You are targeting a bloody Nuclear Power Plant (welcome to Chernobyl V2.0).

If the Russians join in, the Chinese could follow suit. They are with Iran here

I very much doubt the US will do it, even a minor attack will be setting off the gunpowder keg and the entire area will go up. Iran will attack Israel, Syria, Jordan etc. will all join in. The americans need the oil in this region and Iran could easily blow all of the wells to hell and back.

They will not risk setting off a war here - especially with the Russians working at the N Power Plant - that will give the Russians excuse to bomb the hell out of anything they choose

I doubt nukes are going to be used in the near future (5 years)... unless something changes that forecast.



The difference between Israel having nukes and Iran wanting nukes (or maybe having them) is that Israel have not said that they will blow IRAN OFF THE MAP! (To clarify... Iran have said they would blow Israel away)

1. Israel has proven to be a responsible nuclear power using the deterrent factor effectively.

2. Iran is a dangerous, unpredictable quantity with a very hostile attitude towards Israel.

But stuff-it...You know what be really cool? Is for the US and Israel to be completely disarmed. Then allow Iran, North Korea, China and Russia complete autonomy while allowing these states to develop any number of weapons they like.
