Alright so yeah, i've got a Yamaha surround sound system and it's all set up. Though I've lately had the problem that the two back speakers will start making this annoying rattling sound at certain points in movies when the music gets louder and more suspenseful. I thought at first it was because they were hanging on metal hooks from the wall, but even if i take them off they'll still have this high-pitched rattle going on. It really just distracts you from the movie. So if anyone has any ideas of what's going on, if either the settings are not right or whatnot, let me know. I'd appreciate any tips.

I haven't such a big setup like you but I also had a rattle problem. Found out the speaker was loose inside it's casing. Fixed it with some silicone sealant. Maby your prob is related.

Maybe you've set the Bass Boost/Gain too high for the speakers to handle?
A mate of mine had the same problem and turned his Bass Boost down a bit and adjusted for the BAss to only come out the Subwoofer.
Worked like a charm.
Just a though.

what amp is it - and are those bookshelf speakers
if you go into the settings and set those to "small" as opposed to "large" it might help - since you should only use large for floorstanders - and considering you had those suspended with chains id say those were bookshelf speakers
let us know what speakers they are and what amp model you are using and maybe we can help a bit more
