I have to admit that last time i had to renew license discs, the system was not slow or down. The people manning it was the problem. Like fukkin off to tea with the queues out the door.

It's basically a poor excuse for our traffic department system.
I have to agree with Val though, it's the damn people that use the system that make it virtually useless. I cannot go anywhere near that place without losing my temper or throwing something.
Funny story though: the once I actually got asked to leave the traffic department for causing chaos. I was doing my eye test for my driver's and had just finished that bit where you have to pick the odd block out of the four displayed. A rather dim looking gentleman then went after me while I stood opposite taking fingerprints, and this is how the test went:
TESTER: Which block is it?
DIMWIT: Um... top one?
TESTER: No, try again.
DIMWIT: Duh... bottom one?
TESTER: No, try again.
DIMWIT: Ah... left one?
TESTER: No, try again.
DIMWIT: Er... right one?
TESTER: Correct. Please move on to have your fingerprints taken.
Clearly the dimwit was half blind but still passed, for whatever reason (I'm sure you can speculate). I promptly began shouting at this clear corruption and underhandedness. I was then led away by an equally dim security guard to my car.

I went to renew my license disc this year... took me 4 attempts and I gave up...

First attempt: "Eish sorry system not working"
Second Attempt waited in queue for 2h 18 minutes... "eish sorry we can't accept credit card because the system is down. You must pay cash"
Third attempt: Went at 14:00 stood in queue and waited till 15:20... eish I'm sorry the system is now offline you must come back tomorrow!
Forth Attempt: After second attempt I asked what time they open. "Monday to Friday 7:30-15:00" ok Monday morning I rock up there at 6:45 stood outside... waited... 7:15... waited... 7:30... waited... 7:45... waited... 8:00... waited... 8:15... waited... 8:30 feking hell after 1h 45 minutes of feking waiting for these mother fekers to open the door I got pissed off and left! MOTHER FERKERS! 7:30 my arse!
I decided it's not worth my time to renew my disc and so I have been discless for the last 2 months.

Go to roodepoort traffic department, the whole process might take you 1.5 hours, but at least you will get it done.
