Poll put up based on recent discussions about AtkShop spam and such. After you've voted please justify your choice.

After a few votes and a staff discussion on the issue we'll probably disable it for a week or two, just as a test phase.

Personally, I'm voting yes because:

1) AtkShop spam is dragging down the quality of posts on the forum
2) A couple of weeks without it won't kill anyone
3) It should get rid of some freeloaders

Also, if you don' t justify your vote it's null and void.
RenegadeNukes
Personally i'm voting no because:

1.) ATKshop is a big asset to the forums and it is genuinely fun to play
2.) It is an encouragement for me to keep clicking back onto the forum
3.) Measure were made to prevent gil spamming (read the ATkShop Guild Forum) and those should be enforced for success
4.) Spam posts should be removed and repeat offenders should have there gil removed (this will hit people very hard)
5.) If a member continually spams ban them from playing

Because of a few people spamming the rest of us should not be punished for there crimes

At any rate when i joined there was no atkshop and whether it goes or stays my activity on the forum will not be affected. I came for the posts, i am staying for the posts.
cyfermaster
I voted it should go. Same reasons as Rusty. I also suggest that if you don't justify your vote, then that vote is null and void. in other words, if there are 3 people justifying a yes, and only 2 justifying a no (when there were 10 no's) then the 3 will win.
RustPuppet
Word cyfer. I'm adding that bit to the first post.
Gitano
I voted No, simply because I don't agree with removing it completely, I would prefer to make it for privileged members only, like we have already discussed.
rurounikenshin
I agree with Gitano.

maybe make is available to users who have acheived a certain rank, like Regular for example.
RustPuppet
Could be a good idea, wait until a member hits 50 posts or something before playing.

Although we'll then inevitably drag up the arcade post limit argument again.
cyfermaster
the post is to disable it for a while, not completely remove it. wink.gif
JuCa
Didn't vote yet, still pondering about it. The rank thing will just drive people away imo. Nobody who just want to play the game will go through 50 posts to get access. Does it really bother the forums so much? Kids will be kids and all that, take away the one - liners and then what? Makes room for quality posts? Except that there won't be...

I suppose I just look differently on it, doesn't bother me at all, you will get idiots on any forum (seems like most wont that crown tongue.gif). But thats what I think about it and the removal will not affect me at all (we are still a forum first and then the arcade and shit comes as a bonus).
Mr. Magic Matrix
I vote no!

Although i have posted my views in the other thread, i agree on the whole with Nukes and Juca. One liners are not unique to V9 because of ATkshop and tyhere will alwyas be people posting it no matter what you do.

Although sticking a post limit will be as good as killing it, no-one will wait that long for that. I still think gil wiping is the best punishment for gil spamming
Gitano
Sorry Cyfer, Rusty, when I read the topic I must have been half asleep, Cyf: mind changing my vote to a yes if you get a chance please?

Im all for shutting it down for a little while!
Paul
I am against shutting it down, even for a little while.

the crimes of a few should not be wagered against the masses

or whatever
Fishfly
I voted no... quality of post is not going to improve if there's no atkshop it has never been... personally the traffic generated from the arcade is more than the atkshop so why should the people who do contribute and play atkshop suffer when people in the arcade can freeload?
LegendofMax
Null Vote.

If it stays, yay.
It it goes, i really dont mind
Surge
Nay.

1. Spam is a part of forum life. Why should the non-spammers* have to suffer for the regular spammers?
2. A post limit is a bad idea. Why would people wanna stick around here, when they can just go to another forum where there are no post limits?
3. The site has got little traffic as it is. Why chase away any potential long-time posters?

*Don't we all spam at some point?
JuCa
I never spam
Gitano
Like this?
millennia
What a wonderful example the admins and mods are setting in this topic dry.gif
Gitano
Like this?

C'mon Mill, its all in good humour biggrin.gif

Its spamming for sake of post count, and gill that we are discussing.
millennia
To quote Rusty...

Oh, the irony!

Gitano, it would be perfectly fine if it was in Staff or something but yar, bitching about spam posts and doing the same in a public part of the forum sorta sends mixed messages to the ppl that you actually want to stay and post.
Fishfly
I agree with millennia... as mods and admins we should be settnig examples, at least post something constructive...

1. No Spamming.

we have LINK to do that in
W@RP@T}{
I vote no because of Pauls reasons.

I also bet 10 billion gil that it stays.... who's on tongue.gif
Fireball
lol. I dont even have 10million sad.gif

and I agree with Paul. since all newcomers' posts have to be approved, its a great way to catch spammers
Moo
now there's really no point of spamming. There are alot of level 1's with alot of gils
RustPuppet
Sigh.
Carrots
erm, how about the option to not receive attk shop messages anymore?
Paul
I am about to change my mind on this
FatBoy
I vote yes, I would actually like it removed completely. I think its a kak game firstly, secondly, it has caused the post quality to go down, and I think it confuses new members, not everyone knows what the game is, and I think that through the eyes of a new member, it may even look like its is a more important part of these forums than actual posts etc.
