hey guys, my PS2 is acting abit pms'sy. It wont read certain disks and give me a "disk read error"
from what i've heard it's either dirty inside or the laser is gevok.

anyone know where i can get it sorted in jhb, for cheap cheap

Have you tried cleaning the laser?

Otherwise one of those dodgy video games stores/flea market stalls often do repairs cheaply.

urm cleaning the lazer head with a CD leanse cleaner should solve it... but in extreme circumstances your lense may be stuffed from continuous DVD video playback...

AVOID using your PS2 to play DVD movies it's not nice to keep reading a 3 hour long movie with a R1500 system rather get a cheap R300 dvd player to play DVD's

there is also another trick to PS2 cleaning of the lense I'll post it tomorrow as i don't have the details with me here

Also that the Ps2 can only play one format of DVD's and if you get it chipped you stuff your dvd playback! Makes it more of a novelty than a feature. If you are desperate to take your dvd player for trqvel than buy a cheap one or get a portable dvd player with a good AV input. That should more than suffice as a dvd player for you

what you smoking? you saying that once you chip your PS2 your DVD player is stuffed? have you ever gotten your PS2 chipped??? if so please name your PS2 chipper such they we can know NEVER to take
