A new (January 2007) Toshiba LCD 1080i TV has developing 'crackling sounds" regardless on HD or regular programming. I've tightened all connections in the back & cable box, and, naturally, the owner's troubleshooting manual doesn't say anything about it.

Has anyone encountered this before? If so, what fix did you use?

if you don't mind me asking what cabling are you using for this sound? are you using fiber cable? if so is it possible that the cable is bent?

Fish has got a point there

Have you tried contacting customer service - they may have an answer for you?

It has the gold cable that the service provider (our cable HD TV service) provided when they installed it. However, it may have gotten pinched as we move things around. I appreciate your suggestion. I'll check!

I was going to call them last since I assume they will take the position that it's anything else EXCEPT their product. My first step is asking users (like on this board) who may have encountered something similar.

Thanks for taking an interest and posting.

ya well if it's fibre optic cable then you've pretty much stuffed the cable by pinching it... if not then try get another cable and see if it is indeed your side make sure everything is not your side before contacting the retailers least this way it'll help diagnose their issue biggrin.gif
