For anyone who didn't guess by the topic title, Blizzard announced the upcoming release of Starcraft 2, it should be available in October. There are screenshots, character breakdowns etc already on the website.

Visually similar to the original, similar interface, unit proportions are the same. The one issue, they have stressed that the game will focus on multiplayer, but haven't yet said whether they will charge for battle.net use.

Now just to wait to pre-order it.

nah, Cnc3 is a genre on its own. But i have been waiting for starcraft 2 a loooooong time. bout' time blizzard

I think it's about time to create a new genre for these type of games... it's getting rather monotomous playing the same thing over and over and over for hte last decade

Agreed. Let's hope the new Starcraft will do something different unlike the rehashed C&C.

Although, judging by the teaser site, things are looking very similar to the original thus far. No doubt it'll be insanely popular either way, but you'd think after this much time they could mix things up a bit.

Jip, as do I. The original was great. It might not look it, but its actually a vastly different game from warcraft 3.

things needs to progress not the same old shit... Look at CS... fekking CS then CS1.5 then 1.6 then source? yes it's a great formula but does this redefine the new gaming genre?

I sense they just need more money so they making the same game where everything just gets a new skin and new units and 1 extra race.... FEKING hell!

come people think of better ways to make strategy games... giving it a 3d look and feel has been done once too often, giving it extra race is also been overdone... NEW style = redefine the game!

Wouldn't put CNC 3 as rehased at all. I personally love playing the game and i like the fact that it stayed true to the original CNC's but with amazing graphics and some new stuff added as well

But for Starcraft- i loved playing the original and am eagerly anticipating the new one
