I think PMs are disabled until you get a certain number of posts.

They are disabled for new members.
You need to advance to a new class.

I think that the rule about PM's should be ammended so that all user groupos can use the Pm system. It will solve the Junk pile problem

dude, the rule was put into place so that spammers don't join and spam other users via PM.
That rule will not be changed anytime soon.

Ah okay. Forgive my lack of knowledge on that matter. I have never been on a forum where spam was a problem :sorry:

lol, thats because they have all these measures in place ;-)
problem is that v9 is very well loved by search engines, which is why we have 300+ people surfing the site any anyone time, and that's mostly visitors just passing through, naturally we are going to attract spammage.
Its both unfortunate, but also a good sign that we're doing well enough to be targetted

On the contrary, I think it solves the problem of potentially dodgy members trying to scam people.

It actually says you need to have 1 post before you can send any pm.

Jul 26 2007, 10:51 AM
Thats no longer true. The minimum is now 5.
Where did you see that Bone? So we can fix it!
Bone
Jul 26 2007, 10:54 AM
Oh. When I came to this forum I got one post and I could send pm. I guessed it changed so quickly to 5. Well when I came to this forum I tried to send a pm and it said you'll have to get one post. And when I got one post I just sent you a pm. Remember?
cyfermaster
Jul 26 2007, 03:56 PM
I checked the settings and it was incorrectly set to 1 post. I have since changed this to be 5.
Gitano
Jul 26 2007, 04:00 PM
You are correct Bone, we have changed it since you joined!
Lets amend some of that info hey paul/CrEaTi0n/cyfer? I think it must be an error message or splash screen or something that says 1 post still
cyfermaster
Jul 26 2007, 04:07 PM
Maybe it said 1 post because at that stage he only needed 1 post...? Just a thought.
Gitano
Jul 26 2007, 05:25 PM

Bone
Jul 26 2007, 05:52 PM
