Heya guys, I've recently bought a new PC, everything inside it is less than a couple weeks old more or less.
However, just recently, I've tried to install games etc etc etc - and I get CRC errors every single time, the discs aren't dirty or scratched (most are brand new) I've tried changing the IDE cables on my drives, and swapping them about to figure it out. I've also tried to reinstall XP, but it wouldn't read my SATA drive correctly, and just kept rebooting (instead of going into further XP setup) i.e. formatted drive > windows XP installation files > reboot > reboot > reboot ad infinitum.
To check wether my IDE controllers were buggered I plugged my Drive into a USB > IDE and tried from there, same result. Tried the same with a different drive - all with the same result.
I've even followed someones advice and tried switching off DMA on my IDE's etc etc. Its all becoming very much a pain in the ass ><
Any ideas? and suggestions would be most most most appreciated. Thanks!

Not to be funny but sometimes its just worth it to simply return the PC
unless of course you built t yourself and have no warranty's

Yo you have Memory Issues if your system is rebooting like that... did you change some memory timing settings in the bios?
go to www.memtest.org and download memtest, boot into dos with a bootable CD/Stiffy and let the test run for a couple of hours if you get any reboot/hang/errors then you know you have either set your timings in your bios for the RAM to something it can't handle or you have a faulty RAM in your PC.

Isn't always memory Fishfly. I have had a machine with a faulty mobo do the same thing.

What RAM do you have? How many sticks? Are they seated properly?
I had a similar issue some time ago with different RAM sticks: I swapped one out so they were both the same and my issues disappeared.
Do the HDDs work in another PC?
