I own a Sony model # KDF-E60A20. It is a 60" LCD television. Anyway, I've had it for about a year with absolutely no problems. Today, I did my usual cleaning of the screen. When I stepped away, I noticed a few black marks on the bottom left of the screen. I thought it was dirt, so I used the cloth to try to wipe it up. All of a sudden, I had a big, round black spot on the bottom left of my screen.

It looks like water has gotten trapped on the inside of my LCD screen. I don't know what to do. Should I let it dry?

Someone PLEASE help me.

Thanks.

well firstly didn't you read the instruction manual NEVER CLEAN AN ELECTRONIC equipment with a WET CLOTH...

try letting the tv dry before switching it on again... maybe a fan could help speed things up

It said in the manual to clean the tv with a damp cloth. I guess there is a fine line between 'damp' and 'wet'. I certainly didn't think going maybe a little bit over that line would result in a huge black puddle of water inside the tv screen.

I'll try the fan. I have to say, since I posted this, the mark is not as visible as it was before. But, I still worry that it could stain and never be the same.

ya that could be a big problem biggrin.gif

well if all else fails... try RMA the item smile.gif

fish,
Thanks for your responses. I got in contact with an electronics repairman and he came over today to take a look. He opened up my television. Luckily, he was able to clean the spot. All that remains is a tiny spot that can barely be seen.

I was very relieved... Especially with my DeLaHoya - Mayweather party happening on Saturday. boxing.gif

I just bought a 37" lcd philips ambilight from best buy, and now that it is home and set up, it looks crappy. The only thing that I have hooked up to it is my xbox 360 (using the regular yellow, red and white cable).

I just upgraded from a 32" $300 sanyo flatscreen to this $1200 37" lcd, but the picture on my sanyo looked better! Am I missing some "magic cable or component" that will make my TV look as good as it did on display at the store?

I am the biggest idiot when it comes to electronics! crying.gif

I just wanted this TV for my gamer boyfriend and because it looked nice in the store lol

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Are you watching HD channels? This may or may not be the problem, but if they were displaying the television on an HD channel in the store and then you got it home and put on a regular cable/satellite channel, it is obviously not going to be even close to the quality.

You are watching HD channels, right?

personally I would say throw out those RCA cables (Yellow, white, red) and replace it with a digital one cos the quality - esp for HD is crap with RCA...
