On Vault9 are there any guidelines / rules on Sigs and avatars that i should be aware of

I know that the Avatars should only be 125 X 125 px and no bigger than 150 KB. But are there any rules on content, colors etc.

For sigs there seem to be of varying sizes, shapes and dimensions and is there a norm for the size of the sigs so that people on Dial Up won't be affected too much by them and also on context is there anything i should be aware of

General rule is as you said above: don't have any huge flash animations or anything that 56k people have to spend hours downloading.

IMHO something small and not too garish is the way to go.
