A high-speed French train with a souped-up engine and wheels broke the world speed record Tuesday for conventional rail trains, surpassing 354.1 mph (570 kph).
I saw this thing on the news last night, feck it moves, watch the video if you can.
They should work on the Maglv if they have any chance of retaking the all time speed record back from Japan

I agree with the Maglev take - I was watching a program on the Magnetic levitation trains (there are two big guys, one in Asia and one in Germany) and they are simply going to take over conventional trains.

It takes very long to stop.
Also keep in mind that although it can run on normal old tracks (like we have here), the tracks where they clock these speeds on are special tracks in the sense that they are very straight and level.
