I have been looking all over the internet for a supplier/reseller that will ship BFG cards to South Africa. But i cant find any and i dont know of anyone that sells BFG cards in South Africa?

Could someone please help me? Or merely offer some advice as to what to do next?

best bet is to order it from overseas... but why would you want to do that?

1. Importing the GPU will cost you 10% of value + 14% vat
2. Warranty, how are you going to return it if it's DOA?
3. Warranty, what are you going to do if the card breaks in say the next 6 months?

XFX, Asus, Gigabyte and the likes are already sufficient enough in our market plus it's local warranty. Yes it may cost slight more but do you want to deal with all the after sales issues?

You could always ask a mate to bring one over if they are overseas...

yeah fair enough, ive dealt with the nasties of DOA electronics from the states... not pretty at all. but I cant help thinking that if i get hold of a 8800 GTS OC, which is benched at higher than the 640mb of the 8800 GTS !! and it only costs R2000, converted to rands, with at most R1000 to get it here... so it makes financial sense. considering a normal 8800 GTS 320mb is about R3200 here. Argh, dont know what to do.......

Fishy is exactly right, the import cost and warranty hassles are not worth it. The local brands available are more than sufficient IMHO.

best bet is to get a friend to bring one over for you...

Thanks for the input guys... I ended up taking Fishfly's advice and just looking locally coz i decided that after sales issues would have been terrible (thanks again Fishfly). Anyway, i managed to find a factory OC'd card from XFX for R3700 which is benched higher than the 640mb as well (yay).

Yeah I got Warpath that card on friday as well... awesome card bit dissappointing with the packaging but I'm sure the card makes up for the packaging

P.S don't forget to post some benchmark scores

yeah getting a GFX is not worth it especially if you look at the warranty.
