The results of the last post-a-thon are in. It's a tight one this time round with it yielding some interesting results.

We never planned for this so after I list the winners, I'll explain what is going to be happening.


So, 2 of the admins come in the top 2 spots (PM me if you would like to see the query used in getting these results incase you think something is suspect). In light of this, we are going to be pooling the prizes from this post-a-thon into the next one. This will result in a huge prize. We think that this is the best way forward as ultimately these competitions are for you guys.

We also did something new picking 2 random people to get "spot" prizes as such.


Congrats to Treshi and CyberStorm for getting the 2 spot prizes. If you could please PM Ian with your banking details, he will get your $'s to you a.s.a.p.

So, this draws an end to a very productive and succesful post-a-thon. Be sure to get involved next time round when the prize pool will be bigger than before.

I don't post to win competitions and moolah I post because I like talking about the respective topics etc.

Well don Creation and Rush, saw plenty plenty posts from you guys all with content, no one liners etc. etc.

I wouldn't have minded if they got the prize, if they are the best, admin or no admin I think they deserve it.

nah, it would have looked well dodgy if Ian or I laid claim to the prize.

reminds me of a story about a rancher who held a raffle with a few prizes and after the raffle took place was talking to one of his ranch hands about it and the ranch hand asked him "So who won first prize?"
rancher replies "My wife! lucky isnt she?"
and the ranch hand asked "And the 2nd prize?"
rancher replies "My son! lucky isnt he?"
Ranch hand enquires again "and the 3rd prize?"
Rancher answers "My daughter! lucky isnt she?" Then the rancher says "Come to think of it, you still haven't paid me for the tickets you bought"
Ranch hand replies "Lucky arent I ?"

Care to explain what the numbers are for? Is it for points, or topics started etc etc... Just to give members an idea of how you get to the 20, 18 etc....

I agree with that, and ultimately that is the best.



They do get excluded from the total for the user, however if that link spurns a good thread then it may be included in the total.

And finally:

I let my fellow admins down by not making the top 3. I blame it on all the posts that were lost when the DB went on vacation.

posts that are shorter than 100 characters are not counted in the total. the number next to the name is indeed the number of topics started.

i dont see why the admins should be exempt. you guys are just going to have to work harder to win otherwise we might as well just throw the prizes around like choice condoms at a traffic light. you must work to win

Then it should be called a thread-a-thon. LOL I was under the impression that it was based on posts. i.e. A Thread would say get you 2 points, while a post would get you say 1 point... For the next one we should maybe clarify that?

I took that as meaning New topics and posts from new topics would be counted, not simply new topics.
