the main pic in terms of how i mounted the sideboxes would be this one

if you look at the wheel arch and then see that the fender forms a ridge from the fender to being inline with the wheel arch - the side box was calculated to have the side wall resting on that ridge - and then the amp rack between both sideboxes keeps it in place as well as the weight of the subbox - thus the panels dont need to be mounted - you can just see the edge of the amp rack thats around 5 cms away from the wheel arch - so that the side box rests on the wheel arch further back and toward that ridge further forward - but the main support does come from the wheel arch actually
heres all the pics i took following this one - hope they will give you some idea about the install

the head unit - and alpine 9827 mp3 player - i love alpine and its basically a great sounding headunit - the other headunit i wouldnt mind having is pioneer - the others that i like wouldnt be available here like eclipse etc
then onto the midrange drivers for the front set of splits - these are mounted on the doors and i have thinned down the window winders since the speaker will get in the way of those winders as you bring down the window - was going to put in electric windows - but was too lazy - and this install was done around two years back anyway - and now im gonna get a new car soon
the tweeters were mounted up on top of the dash as can be seen here

these were then toed in to a suitable angle to provide a wide soundstage - they are mounted on a bracket made from chipboard ie two triangular pieces stuck together and then covered in vinyl and stuck to the dashboard with two way tape
now onto the back - when you open up the rear hatch here is the sight that greets you

heres a closeup of the logo on the parcel shelf

the parcel shelf is made of chipboard and the logo was cutout of masoniote - then stuck onto the board - thereafter the vinyl was glued and applied onto the board then you heat the area around the logo with a heat gun (kind of like a hair dryer) and if its very sensitive vinyl you actually use a hairdryer to avoid making holes in it - this bit was covered with a carbon fibre type of vinyl - not the shiny one with the effect painted on - but thick leather like stuff with breathing holes actually woven in
the sub box holds a pair of JL audio 12W1 subwoofers - these are the bottom of the range -but are great for sound quality and used to cost around R3000 each back in the day - off course nowadays you can get better for less

heres a pic that was taken with a better camera previously
