no why waste R500 more just to get a 2-3-2-5 timing? If you not overclocking or trying to set a new speed record then it's a waste of money.
the 8600 will be released in March 2007 when ATI launches their R600 flagship... price/performance it looks as the 8600 is going to outperform the 7900's even tho it's half the performance of the 8800... So as Rust said that's a good suggestion.
as for HDD, best price/gig atm is the 320gigs from seagate is the best atm...
DVD burner... get a LG pretty decent in price and performance - tho I would recommend a Plextor no one sells one in SA
