I find this bit interesting:

QUOTE
WebOS /GoogleOS: To counter the Vista and Windows Live threat, Google may come out with some form of GoogleOS. This is contentious, but one theory is that if Vista's default services (Live.com) can put pressure on Google, then we may see a Google optimized Linux .

The web as we know it now is changing so damn quickly!
Paul
watch MS counter with their own linux OS.

The google OS theory has been making the rounds for a while now, but why would MS buy Novel if they didnt have a card to play?

So they could get rid of them.

CCM bought out KOHO and then just stopped the manufacture of KOHO skates. The easiest way to get rid of a competitor is to buy them out...
Paul
yeah but then MS would have to then also buy Ubuntu, Gentoo, Mandriva, Slackware, centOS, Debian, white box, yellow dog, Knoppix, Mepis, Basilisk, Auditor, Backtrack, Whax, KANOTIX, Helix, PCLinuxOS, Phlak, Whoppix, frenzy, Xandros, Impi, Freespire, Yopa, etc etc etc

Just go take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...x_distributions

and thats not even looking at the BSD distro's

Good luck with buying up the world.

Paul

I was just saying it was maybe the reason. tongue.gif Maybe they just have a grudge against Novell, although I think your original statement was correct.

Youtube is taken to court over copyright infringement.

nah Google is settling those payments real good Fudzy.

I predictions are mobile, keep watching the mobile scene... yeah everyone is on the whole social media and video sites but mobile is where the buck is!

A South African co is working on a version of mxit for voice calls using Push To Talk because VOIP on cellphones in SA is illegal.

Google launched Gmail mobile which means it's going to bring the rest of its services to the mobile in due time. eg. Google Calendar, Docs, Spreadsheets, Picasa and Gtalk. Live (MSN) and Yahoo will follow suit in some way.
