Its a sad state of affairs that not enough people are fighting the good fight, and we'd like to try and change that.
About 2 years ago we thought about starting a project to buy blankets for winter to give to homeless people in conjunction with the Operation Snowball project, however our timing was always wrong and we could never get it off the ground properely.
So we have decided to start running 2 projects a year.
One will start in January, this is for Winter.
It will allow us to save and garner donations for 6 months before Winter kicks in.
The other project will start in June which will be to collect food for Christmas to give to the homeless and the poor at Christmas time.
Starting these 2 projects at 2 different times will help us prepare for the next one.
As of January, Kinetiq will also start putting aside a portion of our proceeds made from Advertising and other earnings from our various sites to buy blankets.
We will put up a counter and as we buy a blanket we'll add it to the counter so that everyone can track and see how many blankets we have bought and come June, we'll take the entire lot and donate it to Operation Snowball.
We hope to have a mountain of blankets by June and invite all the members of this site to try and assist in helping contribute to a great cause.
We'll accept donations directly for the purchasing of blankets and will invite everyone who donated to take a photo with us on a FAT MOUNTAIN of Blankets!!
We'll be putting up banking details shortly and would appreciate even a few bucks, if you can't donate money and would like to donate a blanket instead, I would be more than willing to pick up in and around JHB.
So far we have 5 blankets that have been donated by my mother and my sister.
Speak to your families and ask them if they have any blankets lying around that they are not using and would like to contribute to a worthy cause!
You could save a life.
Please note that we cannot accept anything other than blankets or monetary donations, getting into clothes and food for winter will shift our focus.
Thanks and happy holidays folks!
