Rassie Erasmus says it would be a great honour to join the Springbok coaching team for next year’s World Cup.
The Cheetahs coach could go to France as a technical analyst following an international season that almost saw Jake White lose his job.
“I’ll do anything to help the Springboks win because I am also a supporter, as all the others who stand behind them, but there are many factors to be considered,” Erasmus told superrugby.
“I am involved in the Super 14 and Currie Cup competitions, my family and my home are here and I have a three-year contract with the Free State. That is where my priorities are now.
“My family and I planned what we were going to do in these three years. There are many things to be discussed, but it will be a great honour if they [Saru]invited me. If it does not happen, I will remain with the Free State. Maybe it will happen in the future.”
It was White who phoned Erasmus after the first Test defeat at Twickenham, but the latter refuses to take credit for the 25-14 win that followed.
“All I did was to make one or two suggestions about things I had noticed,” said Erasmus. “I can’t accept any credit for the victories in the last two tour matches but it was nice to be able to help.”

Personally I feel Rassie is one the most innovative coaches in SA (remember him on the roof). He is technically astute and he has worn the Springbok jersey as well, which makes it easy for him to relate to other players.
