I'm not a console fan but I'd go with X360 if I was. PS3 isn't selling like crap for nothing.

PS3 a year and half from now, now it is just a system with nothing on it (like every other launch of a console). I wonder if the X360 can keep up with next-gen once PS3 starts rolling but in the meantime the games are on that platform though

Damnit man!
Am I the only one who thinks that the Wii is the only one worth-while (if you already own a PC, that is)?

I dunno what I would go for. I think I would really need to research this quite in-depth before purchasing one. From what Carrots is saying, and if it is true, then I would lean towards the Wii. Anyways, I don't see myself getting a console anytime soon, so I guess nothing for me to worry about just yet.

I am sticking with the 360 for now, but I must say I love playing Final Fantasy on the PlayStation though!!

I'd like a PS3, the pricetag is a bit scary though. Then again, if you at the quality of the graphics/games and how much you spend on upgrading your graphics card every 2 years it probably works out cheaper to have a console.

xbox360 ftw no doubt
im sorry, but i cant see myself paying 7k or whatever for a ps3 and god knows how much for the games. oh and lol at the sneaky people trying to pawn them off on ebay. turns out sony has sufficiently supplied stores so there is no huge demand and now they are actually getting returned consoles just as quickly as they can sell them <3

I think it goes in this order: X360, Wii, PS3.
Xbox has the superior online ability. Even if PS3 has a comparable online aspect, people are already committed to XBL. I am one of those people. For me to switch over to PS3 online, Sony would have to produce something NOTHING short of amazing and give me a cookie.
Xbox also has Halo 3 and Halo Wars to be released. That is an advantage no doubt. I know some of you are thinking "HALO SUUUUCKS!" Lol it is because you havn't played it for longer then 5 mins!
What is the PS3 bringing to the table? Well it's cooler looking then the PS2 and yeah it has better graphics. What else? PS2 released toooooo many games that were the same. PS3 will likely do the same.
In the long run I think the Wii will be the better system. New and different things to look forward to from the Wii. Wii is ture next gen. Nintendo is taking steps to go beyond the standard console gaming experience. I am tired of sitting on the same couch for hours holding the controller in the same fashion. I want some interactiveness and that is exactly what the Wii is bringing forth.
n fact, the Wii is outselling Sony's new console by a factor of almost 2:1. The number of PS3s sold into the Japanese market (466,716) falls well short of the million Sony had planned for the end of 2006. 989,118 Wii consoles have been sold in Japan in the same time span.

And maybe I should tell you about the two WalMarts, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Gamestop, and EB Games, all of which have PS3 stock. (Not to mention nearby (but inconvenient) Toys R Us stores).

You obviously haven't been to an electronics retailer lately. You'll see lots of PS3s sitting there. You can spot the PS3 section by the tumbleweed blowing through.
It seems the rest of the world isn't favoring the PS3.

Give the PS3 at least some time to gain ground and get some killer apps you know.
But still, if you want the action now (and not wait 3 years for the good games). X360 is the answer.

PS3 had all the hype to begin with. The other two went in as underdogs.
Wii was released at the same time, and is still selling out. I'm not saying the fight is over, but PS3 has a bit of an uphill battle as it is in last place at the moment.
No-one will release exclusives to an unpopular console. There are probably some good games for the PS3 in the pipeline currently, but they will have to be exclusive, or much better than their Xbox360 counterparts to warrant Joe public spending the $200 - $300 premium over the Xbox360.
But then again, the chance of me buying any console in the next 2 years is probably 10% (and then it will be wii)

I voted for the 360, and cash permitting, I will get one soon!
I like the media centre and online capabilities of the X-Box!
More than that, with a decent mod-chip you can easily backup all your favourite game right onto the 360's harddrive and game the night away with out worrying about pesky discs.
That's reason enough for me!
If money was no option, I'd get 'em all!!

I'd like the PS3 or the X360 either or would be fine for me, however the price tag really dles scare me and for now i will stick to my P3 2 and my PC until the tag comes down a bit. Imn Bahrsain it is around $1000 for a 20 Gb Ps3.
Talk about rip offs

PRicing will drop soon... but for now that's the launch rate... but give it another 12 months for the PS3 to come up.

I decided to get a 360 AND a Wii, cause I figured it'd actually be cheaper to get the both of them than a PS3, which is horribly over priced. As for the winner of this "next gen war"? I go for the Wii. Why? Simple really. Nintendo has done brilliantly in introducing "non gamers" to video games. The Wii is the most fun of all the consoles, and where as it isnt as "hardcore" as a PS3 or 360, it encourages gamers and non-gamers to come together.
Nintendo ftw.

Tokyo - Nintendo's Wii video game console outsold rival Sony's PlayStation 3 by more than five to one in Japan in May, a research company said on Tuesday.
Nintendo sold 251 794 Wii consoles last month, while Sony sold just 45 321 PS3s, according to Enterbrain, a Japanese publisher that tracks video game console sales.
The figures indicate that Nintendo is extending its lead over Sony on the Japanese electronics giant's home turf. In April the Wii outsold the PS3 by about four to one in Japan, according to the research firm.
Sony and Nintendo - along with Microsoft, maker of the Xbox 360 - are locked in fierce competition in the next-generation home game console market.
Nintendo, which has long dominated portable consoles, has enjoyed brisk sales of the Wii console, known for its innovative motion-sensitive controller.
In total, Nintendo has sold about 2.49 million Wii consoles in Japan since it was launched last December, while Sony has sold 928 642 PS3s since it was introduced here last November.
Are you ready to change your prediction, ?

The Wii outsold the PlayStation 3 by a factor of three to one in August, but its overwhelming lead narrowed for the second consecutive month according to Reuters.
Since first launching last year, the Wii has outsold the PS3 every month largely due to being sold at half the price of Sony's machine not to mention Nintendo's fresh take on game controls.
August sales, as reported by Enterbrain, show that Japanese interest in the Wii may finally be slowing, albeit slightly. Wii outsold the PS3 by a factor of six to one in June, four to one in July, and three to one in August.
Microsoft's Xbox 360 continues to be a non-factor in the world's second largest video game market selling only 11,000 units last month compared to 246,000 Wiis and 82,000 PS3s.
Also, the lead did not narrow, the pace at which the lead increases has only slowed down. :-p
PS3 is a great console, I'm not contesting that. What I said from the beginning is that the Wii will be the most popular for a number of reasons. Price being one of them. :-)
It will be interesting to see the numbers 3 years from now... By then the PS would have caught up, but how close will it be?

I still say the Wii is not a true next gen console though
That being said it is fun to play, but I find the games to be a bit too kiddy for me, will be interesting to see what Metroid is like on it

Graphics wise its not next gen. Gameplay wise it is.
From what I've seen of metroid, the graphics looks aged. Not the right title for the wii imo. Wii is all about having fun with your friends. For single player games, stick to the PC.
