He didn't. He wasn't the world champ when he retired.
he was champ in 98 and 99, and retired after a bad season in 2001.
Schumacher retired while he was still competitive. Mika wasn't anywhere near competitive when he left.
ag ja, that is true about Mika's retirement - pity this job has given me a Swiss cheese memory.
