I have a very junior techie position that needs to be filled.

Formal Qualifications needed : None
Operating system Knowledge : Essential : Windows XP.
Preferred but not essential - windows 2003 server, linux/unix (preferrably bsd)
Networking : basic networking, switching, cabling, tcp/ip, assigning ip addreses etc
hardware : Do you know how to swap a network card? Assign drivers for a gfx card? replace a hard drive?

Job Description :
Basic techie work, back ups, desktop support, hardware failures etc in and around the Greater Johannesburg area.
Petrol will be paid for.
Applicant will initially work from home responding to call outs.
Basic housekeeping (Setting up of email accounts etc)

Previous experience required but not necessary.

Own transport required! (petrol will be paid)
Own cell phone required! (Allowance will be given)

It would be preferred that the applicant have their own dsl line and router, however the successful applicant will be provided with a 3gig ISP account.

The applicant must be in possession of a valid driver's licence

This position is ideal for the school leaver looking to break into a technical position.
