Another tv spinoff series :

QUOTE
I'll preface this news with the normal disclaimer of "we don't normally talk TV but..." and then go on to let you know about some TV news you might be interested in. Fox has officially greenlit "The Sarah Connor Chronicles," a TV series based on the TERMINATOR movies and following the Sarah Connor character Linda Hamilton originated in the first two movies. David Nutter ("Smallville," "Dark Angel") will direct the pilot based on a script by Josh Friedman, the WAR OF THE WORLDS writer who's also been frequently blamed for the start of the SNAKES ON A PLANE hype. The series will follow Sarah and John Connor after the events of TERMINATOR 2, when they go on the run. Says producer James Middleton, "She has the weight of the world on her shoulders, and she also has to raise a 14-year-old son who may be the salvation of the world." Interestingly enough, it was Nutter's appearance at the Comic-Con this year that got him involved when he stumbled upon Friedman's script. Casting on "Sarah Connor" is expected to begin immediately - Hamilton and Edward Furlong are not involved in any capacity - with filming set to take place early next year in Mexico. Fox would begin airing the series in Fall of 2007.

Hmmm, I don't know how long the gap between T2 and T3 was but I assume there isn't anything happening with the Terminator inbetween the two movies. So is this series gonna follow the day-to-day life of Sarah trying to raise her son or will there be action in it (like the movies)?

Surge
They can't be serious. Perception is a key factor as well here.

We saw T2 back in the day, a movie which was revolutionary in terms of special FX and the likes.

Now, we are supposed to watch Sarah run all over the USA with her little brat, and where is the T1000 or some other cyborg from the future to make their lives difficult? After all, the storyline for T3 mentions nothing about there being other ev0l cyborgs between T2 and T3 hunting down Sarah and Co.

Lame, lame, lame. This'll prolly get canned after 6 episodes.

Not if they incorporate some form of nudity or something similar. Worked for desperate housewives (eva langoria is drool.gif).

Haha! Is that all you think about?

Sometimes though, nudity ain't enough - look at Body of Evidence, or Striptease.

Thats what I was wondering about, what the fuck is this series gonna be about? I mean, it gets linked to Terminator and we might never even see on of them? Why not put it in the future where that actual war is going on?

Or is that the plot of T4?

Indeed it is, which means, unless then fuck up the entire storyline with a "new" storyline for the series, this show is gonna suck.

Then again, that's what could have been said about Smallville, and that is a success... then again, there are some tasty women in that show as well!

Mmm... Chloe, Lana and Lois... drool.gif
JuCa
Well at least Smallville has the power stuff and the whole Superman to be, what did John Conner / Sarah Conner ever do besides staying alive (thanks to the Terminator nogal)?
Surge
Point taken. Point taken.

Just on a personal level, I did not enjoy Smallville too much in the beginning, because there were all these meteor freaks with powers, which was not the way things were in the comic book world.

But ja, the Terminator series is another story, since at least Smallville did have supernatural stuff happening, while the Terminator series will have a woman on the run from... what again, since she dies and later on the Terminatrix makes her appearence...

Appears i am not the only one.....tongue.gif

Can anyone remember the spin off series "The Net" (to name but one). Had a very good looking female lead, and did not really work out.

They will really screw this up if they link it to the terminator franchise and not have him (or her drool.gif) in it at all.

I really hope they trash this idea.

Then again, Stargate Series worked out very nicely.....

i've seen the preair pilot

its good
divine_madness
And soon you'll all be able to watch it
Starts: 6 May 2008; 20:30 on MNET
Paul
I have watched the entire first season, its really not bad at all, you get to see things from a totally different perspective, its insane.

some highlights

what happens when a T completes its mission and has nothing better to do
how a T will rebuild itself completely in order to complete its mission
what happens to people who finally start believing sarah's mad rantings about robots from the future

and other cool shit
THE SAiNT
I watched the first few episodes but wasn't that impressed. I'd say terminator 2 was a benchmark, but other than that, this is just a ploy to milk the franchise.
I'll rahter watch Sunset Beach.
