Ok so here's the deal.... I have to attend this function... blah blah blah.. The dress code is formal and since I am one of the guest speakers... I need to look good.... Problem is, I dont know should i go for the suit or the dress

So help me choose.....

I am struggling to get the picture of the dress at work, but I generally like the look of a woman in a nice suit (which that one is), so for now I am going to say go for the suit. Once I get a look at the dress, I will either confirm this or change to go for the dress.

I havent looked at the dress, but I would definitely recomend a dress above a suit any day!

That depends on the function you are speaking on:

I'd say a somthing like an evening dress maybe? (cant see the pic)
if its work the suit might be more professional

Chauvanistically speaking... male dominated arena - dress. female dominated - suit.

Well its not exactly a work thing.... Its a dinner type thing to celebrate and honour those who have researched indigenous groups and their culture. And since for my undergraduate degree I did a thesis on land claims and archaeology, specifically looking at the Richtersveld case and the Nama group, I was asked to give a speech, a little brief history of the indigenous people of the Western Cape... so yeah

I did find another dress though... the black one in the pic, which is so beautiful..... Better than the other black one.... but maybe its too much? Dont know....

I still prefer the suit. although the dress in the second picture is very beautiful, and may fit in to the evening a bit better. If I was going to chose a dress I would go for the dress in pic 2.

as for the suit it's funky, but wouldn't suit a evening function...

what do i do with my hair though.. its quite long.. almost to my waist... will have to pin it up.. i hate hair in my face when i'm speaking in public...

I too prefer seeing a woman in a dress, but for some reason I am gonna go with Rush's suit skirt instead.
