Right people. I was just thinking there are a few people on Vault 9 that I know play squash, and most likely a few more that play that I don't know. So I was thinking we should have a Vault 9 squash tournament. What I need to know is this...
Who's keen? When would be a good day? I reckon a Saturday or a Sunday would be best. Feel free to supply dates. Venues you think would be good? I am thinking maybe Wits or Parkview?
At this point in time I can't offer a prize or anything other than being crowned Vault 9 Squash Champ. If the Administrators don't mind that is...?
So lets see who's keen!!!

Wit's administration being SEOP you'll have to pay R20 and play at the old crappy courts
Parkview nice but might be slightly expensive if you wanna play there, my personal preference is to play there
but other than that I'm keen

May 11 2006, 02:37 AM

cyfermaster
May 17 2006, 04:40 AM
They are talking about a WHITE dot squash ball. You get a Yellow, Orange, Red and sometimes a double yellow Dot ball. You should know that trout... anyways I am going to try and book 2 courts at Parkview for the 27th.
Fishfly
May 17 2006, 06:15 AM
no black just watns to touch balls
cyber we only play with double yellow now the orange is no more, there is not RED :?
cyfermaster
May 17 2006, 07:10 AM
well when I was still playing there were Red dots.
Fishfly
May 18 2006, 03:02 AM
you sure it's not orange... AFAIK the only colours are white, yellow and orange dot balls then you get the bigger greenish balls for the pure beginners!!!
cyfermaster
May 18 2006, 04:05 AM
I am pretty sure it was red dots as well. You also get blue squash balls.

May 19 2006, 02:34 PM

cyfermaster
May 22 2006, 02:13 PM

You should get V9 to sponsor a trophy
cyfermaster
May 23 2006, 03:00 AM
the winner can add a V9 trophy to his signature perhaps

May 24 2006, 02:02 PM
Right guys, so we are thinking of starting things at 11am on Saturday. The cost is R40 per person. Could the people that will be there please PM me, or just post here to say they will be there so that we can work out Rosters. You can also bring some extra cash to support the bar.
Fishfly
May 24 2006, 02:08 PM
R40 for the entire day
I'll book 2 courts but apprently sat morning is pretty empty so it doesn't really matter
cyfermaster
May 24 2006, 02:13 PM
Yeah, so we will have the tournament, and you can also play people you feel like playing.
Fishfly
May 25 2006, 02:35 AM
looks like no one is coming
Relic Viper
May 25 2006, 02:50 AM
I am in ... allways just need to spike you r drink .. break your foot ... make you run a marathon and ... give you a old heavy wooden racket to play with then cyfermaster, Black Razor and I will stand a change to beat you
so there are 4 of us so far. we all in the semis...
oh yeah, I am terrible at squash so no need to do any of that stuff Relic.
BlackRazor
May 25 2006, 04:48 AM
I shall venture there on saturday...I jus gotta drop/collect the girl from the hairdresser and go shopping...so errr...12 o clock it is? I'll challenge the victor of the loser round.
cyfermaster
May 25 2006, 04:53 AM
if we don't get too many entrants, then we could do this in a round robin format. BR can just play catchup when he arrives then haha.

I am in!
cyfermaster
May 25 2006, 11:02 PM
Yay. we have another one. W@RP@T}{ MAY be there also. At this point I think we should go for the round robin option. we can still have a final between the top 2, but we can decide on that later.
Due to cyber biaching and moaning fishy will be there too
6 ppl in total I'm sure we can grab two or three courts
cyfermaster
May 26 2006, 12:45 AM
rumour has it that Zorg will also be joining us. you also need to add your name to that list trout.
Fishfly
May 26 2006, 02:04 AM
I'm the one writing the list! so I don't have to write my own name
cyfermaster
May 26 2006, 05:35 AM
you could write the list and not be competing... so you should include your name for all the other people. Just because someone writes something, doesn't mean they are involved.

It happened yet? Who won?
cyfermaster
Jun 6 2006, 12:03 AM
yeah it happened, and a thanks to all those that joined us. We don't really have a winner as there were some members that were unbeaten. However let us all call Fishfly the champ as he is a league player and would most likely have won out of the people that were there.
Well done trouty.
Gitano
Jun 6 2006, 12:37 AM
Nice one trouty
Fishfly
Jun 6 2006, 02:22 AM
but you didn't have a run against me... so we can be tied atm seen that Ravilj got owned by both of us and relic... urm lets just leave it there
cyfermaster
Jun 6 2006, 02:24 AM
okay trout. it is a tie until we play and determine a winner.

When I get better I'll join you guys if you have another sqush tournament!
I only started playing the beginning of this year, but due to university getting harder I haven't played in a fee months. A friend of mine is teaching me but I'm still not very good, usually play at the squash courts at WITs, actually I've only ever played there.
cyfermaster
Jun 24 2006, 12:58 AM
We will definately have another one. It is more of a fun day, so you don't have to be brilliant to play. I will try and organise another one soon. Just pretty busy with things at the moment. Maybe Fishfly can organise one for us.
Azgard
Jun 24 2006, 01:26 AM
Lol good, I'm definitely not a good player.
My friend who was trying to teach me got so tired of me missing when I was serving that he made me serve until I got 10 "correct" serves in a row, and believe me that took me at least 100 serves to get right.
Hope I've imporved since then tho.
cyfermaster
Jun 24 2006, 01:40 AM
I am sure you have improved since then. I am sure some of the guys there will give you a few tips as well.
