There are four main trends out and about at the moment:
Victorian - think frills, skirts, pearls, lace.
Beatnik - A trend sparked by Sienna Miller: skinny black jeans, stripepy monochrome tops, berets, a no-fuss hairstyle.
Black - Black is the new black. Fashion is taking a sophisticated turn. Anything black is a good look, and reliable.
Military - Think the navy admiral's jacket, with copper or gold buttons. Waistcoats, skirts and pants with the metallic buttons looks good as well.
Every girl must get hold of a well-designed jacket. Leather and suede are definitely in. Check out Edgars for some great jackets.
And of course, BOOTS. If you buy the latest edition of glamour magazine, you'll get a 20% voucher for any Foschini boots. Which I obviously took advantage of. All boots are in: long, short, wedge, stiletto. You get the idea.
Regarding handbags, make SURE they are metallic or shiny.
Pants. Wear your pants long, short or in between this winter. Some good, tailored pants are looking really good.
Shoes. Other than boots, WEAR SOME WEDGES! When wearing wedges, make sure the soles are not too chunky. Wedges make your legs look longer, but try and avoid ones with an ankle strap if your legs are on the bigger side.

Waistcoats. I'm sure you've seen the latest fashion of wearing waistcoats - something that Mischa Barton and Kate Beckinsale effortlessly pull off. If you have big boobs, get a waistcoat with darts from the armpit area. Waistcoats made from a stiffer fabric have more structure, adding a more sophisticated air. Black, grey and pinstripe waistcoats are the most flattering. They can be worn as a top if it fits well. WARNING: Avoid colourful and sparkly, go for understated!
Now for my favourite - SKINNY JEANS - They have come in place of flared and bootlegged jeans. Just how can your bum and thighs look good in a pair of superskinny jeans??? Ladies, time to leave your comfort zone and give it a go, these jeans are set to be around for a while. Heels add length to your legs and help you look more in proportion. Skinny jeans are perfect for wearing tucked into long boots, or with rounded-toe ballet pumps. Distress marks draw attention. If you have ample thighs, for instance, avoid buying jeans with distress marks there. Unless you are pencil thin, stay away from wearing tight tops with skinny jeans. I just bought a great pair from kelso, at Edgars for R100. They are a beautiful dark denim, with a bit of distressing. Very veeeery nice. Look to Charlize Theron - she really knows how to pull off the look.

And lastly, underwear. As you'll know Caprice has launched her lingerie range, By Caprice, in South Africa. Boy shorts from this range are recommended - word is they fit everyone, and look perfect on any bum.
And of course, the latest wonderbra with the magnetic strip! I've bought myself one and they are just the coolest. Guys, buy your girlfriend one. They look good, plus they are easier to untie.
