Position: Network Engineer
Location: Bryanston
Salary: R20 000.00 to R25 000.00 per month
Benefits: Commission

Position Summary:

Primary Objectives:
• The focus of this position is delivering network management solutions to Service Providers and Enterprises across a myriad of Industries where ever the client is located. The solution provided would require the engineer to be able to implement the product, configure them, do any integration required, perform skills transfer and then attend to support calls when allocated

Main Duties:
A network engineer can fulfil one or a combination of the following functions:
• Architecting (Solution Design)
• Implementation (Installation, configuration, integration, etc)
• Integrating (Communicating between various products)
• Customer and Operational Support (Different Levels)
• Pre-Sales (Answering proposals, presentations)
• Resolving support calls across all clients and all products.

Requirements:
• At least 3 – 5 years applied field experience
• An in-depth understanding of the following
o TCP/IP
o ANMP/ROM
o LAN
o WAN
o VPNs and MPLS
o Cisco
o ATM knowledge

Operating Systems
• Unix
• Solaris
• HPUX

Product Knowledge:
Must have experience in at least two of the Network Management products below:
• Concord eHealth
• Cisco works
• ISC
• Micromuse Netcool
• Cisco Info Centre
• HP Openview suite, specifically Network Node Manager
• SMARTS
• Any other SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) management product/tools

Will be advantageous
• Linux
• Unix shell scripting
• SQL/Oracle knowledge
• HP Service Desk an added advantage
• Marval
• Infovista
