Purpose of the Job
The Information Security Consultant provides business advice on a wide variety of information security issues, concerns, and problems.

Responsibilities
•The Consultant will ensure that all business projects / initiatives / applications / packages developed in-house or developed by outsiders include adequate control measures.
•Working on committees as internal spokesperson of the Information Security Office and the subject matter expect
•Ensures compliance with information security requirements.
•Performs a periodic risk assessments on new projects
•Represents the company in its information security related interests at industry standards committee meetings, information security conferences, and the like.
•Provides specialist guidance on the development of local, system-specific, and application-specific information security policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
•Initiates and manages special projects related to information.
•Reviews requirements statements, feasibility analyses, operating procedure manuals, and other documents produced during the systems development process.
•Formulate and interpret information security policies, standards.
•Participates in, and acts as an advisor in, periodic information systems risk assessments.
•Researches latest developments in the information security field.

Knowledge and Skills
•Diploma in Information Security Management (preferable)
•Certified Information System Security Specialist (CISSP/CSSP)
•Proven record of similar experience

Experience
At least three years information security experience

Education
Grade 12 but an appropriate certificate/diploma/degree will be to the advantage of the applicant
Certified Information Security Specialist (CISSP/CSSP)
