Been trying to get hold of a new tube of the stuff. If anyone can get a 3.5g tube for me, a pm with price would be much appreciated. Im in Sunnyside, Pretoria... work in Centurion, Highveld Technopark. Need it a bit urgently so pick up would be preferable.

your best bet is to phone Arthur from Synapsys...

I just grabbed myself a tube today

Get the Ceramique if you can. AS5 is good but not as good as the Ceramique and tends to become bonded between the HSF and CPU. Thus when you want to take your heatsink off it's almost welded to the CPU, prone to pulling it out the socket.

Thanks for the advice W( at )RP( at )T}{, I think ill give the ceramique a try. I assume the ceramique performance difference is minimal if none?

One good thing I do know about it though is that its non-conductive, a plus since I'll be usin it on my GPU as well.

But just a question... what's the problem with AS5 on GPU's?

I use it on my x800xt and GPU block temps are nice and cold

Dont really know but I suspect since the gpu does not have a heatspreader and AS5 is slightly conductive when it spills over the edges of the chip... your goose is cooked. Dont really know though maybe someone can clear this up.

Was going to purchase the ceramique from prophecy but they want another R50 for shipping... funds are a bit low this month, so if anyone in or around PTA who can get this stuff for under R90 all inclusive gimme a shout.

Btw Fishfly, how much did this Arthur guy charge. Could you perhaps give me his number?

Ceramique runs a little cooler that AS5 in my testing.

Arthur is in Houghton not sure what his price is but he is very reasonable.

Other option is prob Sybaritic.

hmmm my GPU has the AS5 on it... but yeah...

Both are R69 incl vat although you get a little more AS5 than Ceramique i'd still recommend the Ceramique
