Position: Systems Administrator
Location: Pretoria

Formal qualifications:
· Diploma in IT plus Specialised MS systems Certification (including programming).

Prior Experience:
· Experience in working wit networks and systems development, including hardware configurations.

Special Requirements:
· Driver’s license

Critical knowledge and Skills required:
· Windows NT Administration
· Basics of hardware configuring (workstations, servers, hubs, switches, etc)
· Be able to write basic programs in Visual Studio.net with specific reference to VB.net
· Backup administration
· Network Administration (connectivity, server management, protocols, exchange, etc)
· Competence with full MS Office suite
· Basic Hardware repair and maintenance
· Knowledge of hardware innovations available and under development

Key performance areas:
· Conduct regular maintenance of all components of the network by clearing unwanted data and ensuring that processing is optimal
· First level programming support to business application systems and web development
· Implement and enforce network policies and procedures
· Troubleshoot reported problems and rectify
· Monitor network traffic and make recommendations when upgrade/exclusion is required
· Administer warranty programmes and the work of service providers w.r.t. network components.
· Work back to back with both Systems Developer and Database Administrator
