State why you prefer one over the other...

greenday! why? hmmm... simply, their music is better.

I have been asked the same question many times, and I still haven't found a tangible reason as to why green day is so obviously better than blink.

They are both 3 chord wonders, with whiny voices, singing catchy, nothing lyrics, but damn, blink just pisses me off.

Green Day by far, always liked their older stuff and American Idiot is just a great album imo.

Looks like this is oing one way... If only Ziggy was around to defend Blink.

Gotta say green day given the album American Idiot, the problem with blink 182 was that they broke up with only a cd or so that was worth listening to (in my opinion), although my opinion often seems worthless to anyone else

I have virtually all Blink 182 and Greenday songs in my playlist. I can't choose one over the other. I think that they're both pretty decent punk rock bands with their own unique quirks, qualities and flaws!!

I have to say though, that Blink make more fun videos than Greenday!!! The Rock Show FTW!!!

Both of them are cool but Blink is cooler in terms of "coolness". Their music videos are better, they are weirder etc.

I would have to go with Green Day i found there songs to be much better than Blink, but the vids for Blink are more fun!

However American Idiot was just so full of spunk and rocky tunes that i loved it

I HATE Green Day. American Idiot is an awful album as are all of them except Dookie.

Blink 182... well if ever I was in a band and needed ideas for music videos I would definately give them a call. Musically I suppose they were decent.

Blink182 has more replay value than Green Day IMO. If I was stuck on a desert island for a year with only 10 songs. Blink182 - Adam's song would be one of them.

Well said. Adam's song is excellent and I think I could listen to that a LOT more than even the best Green Day number.

I remember watching a CNN news report a few years back about an American teenager that took his own life.

He set Adam's song to loop in his CD player just before killing himself. He even went so far as to actually do some of the things Blink 182 mention in the Adam's song lyrics!!

I assume he means that they are being overplayed on radio, MTv, etc.

It's a passing fad: hopefully they fade back into their pre-mainstream obscurity and start making proper punk shit again.

I think that Blink have strayed from there core style of music in recent times. And the efforts haven't been great. I hope there new album is back to what they do best - Be Punk

Anything from the old Blink albums are as good as gold (pre-enema) But greenday has stood the test of time and has been going strong since day one.

So all in all... I'd say greenday.

they are both good.however green day is more entertaining in live perfomance.

green day circa the dookie era was the best. american idiot was a total bust for me. a few decent songs but disappointing as a whole. blink was just a joke.
